Description
It came out from a private stock and it is available. A very special piece.
Designed as a crossover from Les’s Carl Thompson to Justine’s (Tool) Wal bass.
Yet its a RIAbass, choice of wood is on a Wal side, heavier mahogany, flat fat headstock. Overal RIA design is initially similar to Les Claypool’s 4 string CT.
Inlays, covers, all nice (spalted maple is used for them , a piece that went to a blue colour, rarely seen).
Hardware is Fodera, both bridge and tuners.
Highlight of it all is a original Wal pickup set and preamp. It came from the designer himself. It was kept as new from the days of second version of Wal electronics, back in 80-81.
Instrument, as intended is an instant TOOL tool. THE sound. Yet, many, many sounds are possible thru the filters of WAL.
Needles to point the impossibility of the existence of a bass like this.
